Playoff games are covered by a seperate pool of money contributed by the NBA. It is a VERY small amount of money (10K per series per player or so) and every player who plays in the series gets an equal amount of money. I think the money per series escalates as you advance higher in the playoffs.

Back to the original question - I believe all suspensions cost regular season game checks. If a player is suspended in the playoffs for a game, he loses a game check next year.
