Didn't Sun explain that whoever the lawyers worked for went to Kate solely for Aaron?
The purpose of the lawyers coming was to disprove the relation between Kate and Aaron, and I'm guessing...for whoever they work for to eventually get their hands on Aaron.
I'm not too sure that Ben has those intentions. Wouldn't he have tried harder to get the kid on the island then? (err, wait did he try hard to get Aaron on the island?)
