See, your post just implies that it is all about Dirk, and the team, and the team's future comes after him, and even if we would have a guy like Irving, it doesn't worth anything, if he can't immediately help Dirk win another championship. I mean, wouldn't be a good thing to have a guy like Irving to build around once Dirk retires? (let's just forget for a moment that we won't tank, and even if we would, chances are we wouldn't get a player like that, for the arguments' sake).
