I never read the book, but I didn't think the Dragon was all that interesting at all.
Its not like Bilbo and Smaug have an interesting conversation. I was expecting the same kind of intensity that the "Riddles in the Dark" section of the first movie brought...but imo it fell far short of that.
Smaug looked and sounded amazing...I just wish he would have said something interesting to say/do.
