Also, let's not pretend that David Lee prevented us from getting him. Johnson will most likely sign for the minimum....on a contending team. Our team being a borderline playoff team is the issue. Joe Johnson will still probably earn most of his 18 million this year, so 187k probably isn't going to deter him.

187k difference. I highly doubt a dude who has earned 100+ million including 18 mill this year would reconsider, based on 0.2 mill. Unless he's picked up off waivers, he gets to choose which team he wants to play for.
