Trump is a genius. On the day he knew his failed health care repeal would fail, he decides instead to cater to his base by banning transgenders from the military. It's basically a "here ya go for failing healthcare" to keep in their good graces.
Trump fails with everyone else, but he knows exactly what strings to pull with his base. And it'll keep working as long as the Dems don't have a solid base to work with.
