Is it his agent trying to pump up his value? But why opt out of a guaranteed 30 million on just the hope that someone will offer a similar amount? If his agent is trying to pump up his value then that means he hasn't been assured he'll get a new contract, because there is no need to create false rumors like this if you already believe a new deal is practically done. 30 million dollars is not the kind of money you play around with without some pretty solid assurances.
Or is it possible the rumor is legit and we are about to offer him 4/112 but the Mavs are just denying it to anyone who asks so they can't be accused of tampering and in general just don't want to tip their hand yet?

I bet he has something like a 4/80 deal on the table somewhere, but is trying to use Cuban's deep pockets and a desire to win to leverage a better offer... It's a plausible enough rumor to gain traction.
