No. Just no. If Dirk is wide open you get him the ball. Period. It might not mean he takes the shot but he should at least touch it. The defense is always going to close or rotate to Dirk. If you're not closing on Dirk then don't plan on getting any significant minutes on a nba roster. Once you get the defense moving that's when you get the wide open cuts to the basket, pump and go, etc.. And Dirk is the kind of player that will give the ball back if you have the better look.
