The Mavericks’ center said Monday he’s planning on practicing with the team for the first time this season - if they can squeeze in a workout session at some point during this game-heavy portion of the schedule.

“We haven’t practiced a lot, so I don’t know if I’m able to practice yet,” McGee said. “We’ve had so many games back to back. It (the leg) feels real good. But it doesn’t matter how you feel walking around, it matters how you feel when you have people around you and getting contact.”

McGee said his game plan is to participate whenever the next full-scale practice comes. But until that happens, he won’t know how close he is to making his season debut.
