Who said anything about comparing them? They're certainly different. Doesn't matter one bit to the point, though.

I just found it funny that you referred to rooting for USA basketball as "jingoistic" (an obvious gross exaggeration in itself), when I've had countless people from outside Texas ask me how in the hell I could ever be a Cowboys fan. I'm a Cowboys fan because I'm from Dallas, I'm a USA basketball fan because I'm from the USA. Pretty simple. If the latter is "jingoistic," the former is good old-fashioned Texas provincialism. Yee haw!
