It's not "disinterested." Disinterested means something like "has no interest in" or "is not a party of." Lakers players, to cite a relevant example, are disinterested in Mavericks games. They don't have skin in the game, as it were.

What you mean, I think, is "uninterested." What that one means, basically, is "is not interested." It's a subtle difference, between disinterested and uninterested. A party to the action can't be disinterested, but he can certainly be uninterested.

I leave it to the reader, as an exercise, to determine whether certain Mavericks are disinterested or uninterested, per your post.
