City of God is brilliant and Snatch is hilarious. The Spanish Prisoner is very good, though it's been forever since I've seen it.

Good films that have passed through the ol' DVD player recently: Sleuth, The Insider, The Day the Earth Stood Still, This Is Spinal Tap, Hotel Rwanda, Sideways, and Mulholland Dr. (one of my all-time faves that usually inspires a love-it-or-hate-it reaction from viewers)
