Alien and Blade Runner are the only two great movies he's ever directed, and that was 35+ years ago... I'd say the Martian was good, not great -- but that was more Andy Weir and Matt Damon than Ridley Scott... I also thought Black Hawk Down was solid... But everything else he's ever directed has ranged from massively overrated (Gladiator) to downright awful (the last two Alien movies).
