I think Rick is simply a game-by-game coach and will put the best possible team that he thinks can win the game. Pop seems to have a better view of the whole picture and realizes those guys with potential are actually assets and not burdens to the team. Rick is much more of a manager than a teacher imo and Pop seems to be a mixture of both.
