Is it?
Which "faith" was the reason for starving millions of chinese? Which "faith" was the reason for gassing 6 million jews? Which "faith" was the reason for dropping nuclear bombs on two densely populated cities? Which "faith" was the reason for the Holodomor (a time of starving so bad that cannibalism wasn't much of an option because the deceased were so badly malnourished)? Which "faith" was the reason for whole-sale slaughter by machete in Rwanda?
It's only by stretching the meaning of the term "faith" to absurd limits can one say with a straight face that "faith" is universally the number one reason for killing people. I'd submit that "faith", at least of the judeo-christian and islam varieties, is by and large what informs us that human beings are something more than blank-slate blobs of material who may be molded, or murdered, with impunity.
That is, absent "faith", what is objectively wrong with a little genocide?
