Default How To: Stay in the Elite, even without Finley.

Waiving Finley really does take the Mavericks out of the Elite in the Western Conference. Phoenix, San Antonio, Denver, Houston, Sacramento will all be better than Dallas next year, IMO. But it doesnt have to be that way.

Stackhouse and especially Quis do not look to pass.
I know Finley didnt get a lot of assists, but he did look to pass it to Nowitzki more than anyone else on the team did.

My Plan:
1. * Trade Marquis Daniels to Boston for Mark Blount and Tony Allen. Mark Blount has improved his game a lot in the past 2 seasons. He can block shots and rebound well, good mid-range game, also moves well for a 7 footer. Tony Allen is basically insurance in case of injury, he is very athletic but his jump shot needs improvement.
2. Sign Antonio Daniels with the MLE. He is a good ball handler, quick as heck, athletic, and a tough defender. He can also play both guard positions.
3. Keep Stackhouse as the 6th man. We would need players that can both shoot and pass at the guard positions. Stackhouse does neither. Antonio takes better care of the ball too, he was #2 last year in assists per turnover. Less turnovers obviously means more chances to score and less chances for opposing team to get easy points.

Depth Chart: (Minutes)
PG - Terry(21), Harris(20), Daniels(7)
SG - Daniels(21), Stackhouse(19), Terry(8)
SF - Howard(33), Stackhouse(6), Van Horn(9)
PF - Nowitzki(36), Van Horn(12)
C - Dampier(29), Blount(19)

Total Minutes per game for each Player in 2005 , (MPG in 2004)
Terry - 29 , (30)
Harris - 20 , (15)
Daniels - 28, (27)
Stackhouse - 25 , (28)
Howard - 33 , (32)
Van Horn - 21 , (24)
Nowitzki - 36 , (38)
Dampier - 29 , (27)
Blount - 19 , (26)

*Why Boston does it:
They are considering waiving Blount anyways.
They can now choose to trade Pierce, because they now have Gerald Green and Ricky Davis that can play SF for them.
Pierce for Elton Brand and Chris Wilcox? Pierce for Jason Williams and Lorenzen Wright? Pierce for Kwame Brown and Larry Hughes?
