RE:Is Dirk the best player in the league?
About the only left for KG to acquire is a consistent shot from the perimeter in the key area...he's pretty deadly from the baselines, but his game is lacking if he isn't attacking the basket from the wings.
The same can't be said for Dirk, as you point out. And, matching Dirk's offense against KG's defense has always come out in Dirk's favor, relatively, which I have found surprising in the past (since it'd be difficult to draw up a better physical specimen to try to guard Dirk). It's almost as if KG has become comfortable patrolling the paint, and forgets that Dirk doesn't move like most of the tall, lanky white guys he guards that play for teams other than the Mavs.
