Updated, Junior Miller said he thought that the 'boys could beat Arizona and then split the next two (4-2), and then conceivably lose the next 10 straight games (finishing 4-12). He also said he wouldn't be surprised if the 'Boys were underdogs in all of those games. That isn't his prediction, mind you, just amplifying the "this schedule is so hard" point. So I updated this list. And frankly, I just don't know what the hell he is talking about. Yeah, we could go 0-10 for our last 10, but we could also go 6-4, 7-3, 10-0. Come on, parity sucks, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I look at the rest of the schedule and see four games where I think the 'Boys will get pummeled-@ Tampa Bay; Buffalo; at New England; and Miami. We're in any of the remaining games.

I think we could easily split with Phily and Washington. OK, that is 2 wins and 2 more losses. Assuming the win against Arizona, we are at 5 wins and 7 losses with 4 "wildcard" games. We are already at the win total of the last 3 years.

The 4 "wildcard" games are as follows: @ Detroit; Carolina; Giants; and @ New Orleans. Look at those games.

The two toughest games are at home. Carolina, coached by former Cowboy Jack Del Rio, is a surprising 3-0; I really think this team is good and might finish 9-7 or 10-6. But ithe game is at home and is certainly winnable. The Giants are probably going to come to Dallas and win, but there is no guarantee for them.

On the road, you have Detroit and New Orleans. Detroit is 1-3 and still pretty bad; their lone win was at home against Arizona. New Orleans is also 1-3 and just got embarassed on national television; their lone win was at home against Houston.

Let's play conservative and say we split the "wildcard games" at 2-2, which IMO is very reasonable. Rather than going 0-10, the 'boys go 4-6 and rounding out a season of 7-9 (pencilling in the Arizona win, which I shouldn't do). And I think that is conservative. Coincidentally, astute readers will recall this to be my season prediction a year ago. This team could easily go 8-8; it isn't out of the realm of possibility that this team goes 9-7. I go back to a statement that I made in the first paragraph:

"Parity sucks, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist."
