I thought it was a funny point but you're right... if 'voting on race alone' made sense.

It's as if one's "race" exists in a silo to some people. Well, surprise surprise, it doesn't. One's background, world view and principles (aka reasons why we relate to one another and would accept someone's representation for us) are all partial byproducts of one's ethnicity. Is it that different than John McCain getting a larger share of the 70+ crowd?

Besides, as various posters have pointed out, the Democrats will only manage to maintain status quo, that is to continue to capture a majority of black voters - half-black candidate or not...
