I was chastising the people that wanted to give Lin a guaranteed contract based on Summer League results. There were people that wanted to see him in the rotation ahead of JJB, and who killed the Mavs for "losing" Lin when Golden State gave him a two year deal.
Summer League is full of terrible, terrible competition. It is very hard to draw concrete results from it. For an undrafted rookie playing in Summer League, you're generally looking for, at BEST, an invite to camp and a make good contract (which is what JJB got, btw).
Saying you think someone should get an invite to camp and could maybe, somehow make a roster is not going crazy. I'm not at all misunderstanding what Summer League is about. I watch it every year - hell I've even paid to watch it before.
