CSI is not a knockoff of Law and Order. it's really unique in its own right. dealing heavily in the forensics aspect, as opposed to just straight police-work. granted, it did come out 10 years after Law & order, but i really don't think the shows are similar at all, aside from simply dealing with crimes.
but again, i'm not defending CSI:Miami or NY
