It's nowhere near the depth of story that HP is. On the whole, the first three books can be enjoyed, but you will roll your eyes at the romance part. The vampire/werewolf stories are enough to keep you interested.

But if you do decide to read them, stay away (far, far away) from the final installment. That is one thick piece of garbage.
