Completely agree - unfortunately, his defensive rep has taken some time to build and if you don't have that rep, then you're just as likely to be called for fouls.
hopefully this will be the start of more recognition for DFS which should only help him. having a rep for defense gives you a little more wiggle rooms with foul calls
having a partner on the other side of things in Bullock has helped too - in past we couldn't have DFS guard two different wings so we'd inevitably get torched by one of them. hope Green can continue to mature and be a 3rd piece of our 3nD team because we don't want to run DFS and Bullock into the ground with so many minutes. would be nice to have DFS and bullock at 36 minutes each and Green around 24 so we always have two of them on the court at the same time.
