A 3:2 assist to turnover ratio isn't very good. Add in a 12.5% shooting percentage for a grand total of 2 points, and no, he wasn't that great. 12 boards is nice, 3 steals is nice, but three pointers and dimes are a crucial part of his game and he wasn't very good in that category. Anyway, the biggest stat that says he should get the night off is the 41 minutes played. At 37, playing 41 minutes of a tough, gritty, hard-nosed defense game, then follow it up with another game the very next night against a younger, athletic team where Kidd would have to guard a very good rookie point guard?
It all adds up for this being a perfect night to give Kidd off.
