But the postseason accentuates all these things: Doncic’s usage rate has gone from 35 to 40, and so have his minutes. The ball has been in Doncic’s hands for more than half of the entire time Dallas has been on offense this series, including minutes with him off the court. (He’s held the ball for slightly more than 23 total minutes, his teammates less than 20.) In this series, Jalen Brunson’s average time per touch and average dribbles per touch have both fallen substantially from the regular season. I’m not sure Brunson’s struggles through this series’ first two games can be explained solely by him not touching the ball as often, but it can’t help.
