Gotta give Mahinmi props - that was by far his best game as a Dallas Maverick.

26 minutes for Kidd, 6 turnovers for the Mavs.
Starting Marion in place of Peja was maybe a good move because of defense in the 2nd half?

Dirk, Jet, Marion and Mahinmi rocked it tonight.
The first quarter turned out just to be a slow start/fluke. 4 quarters boys, 4 quarters.
Our bench tells everyone else's bench in the league to suck it.

Our defense looked pretty good to me with Marion and Roddy on the floor together.

This was the fourth time in the last 10 years that the Raptors have blown a lead of at least 17 points against the Mavericks. Raptors scored 39 in 2nd half (6th time Dallas has held an opponent under 40 in 2nd half).
The 19-pt deficit is the largest the Mavs have come back from this season. 15 was the previous high against the LA Clippers on 1/25/11.
Nowitzki nabbed his 10th double-double of the year with 31 pts & 13 rebs. The Mavs are 10-0 on the year when he records a double-double.
Mavs bench beat Raps bench, 64-25. Dallas is 35-8 when its bench outscores the opposing team’s bench.
Dallas has scored 100-plus points in 15 of its last 16 games. The Mavericks are 32-2 when they reach the century mark.
Dallas is 10-3 in the 1st game of back to backs and 9-4 in the 2nd game of back to backs this season. The Mavs went 15-5 in the 1st game of a back to back and 12-8 in the 2nd game of a back to back in 2009-10.
Dallas is now 21-8 (.724) away from home. They are tied w/San Antonio for the best road record in the NBA.
Last but not least, The Dallas Mavericks are 40-7 with Dirk Nowitzki and Tyson Chandler in the lineup.

OffEff: 124.81
DefEff: 105.10
Obviously the first half spoiled good numbers on the defensive end. Offense was brilliant.

first off i'll just say i'm thrilled with the win.
my only concern is, are we going to keep letting teams get out to 20 point leads on us before putting the bench in to bail us out? or is it time for a change in our starting lineup?

screw the average. the NBA best is 97.3. Mavs defense continues to look like a big weakness, although at least it was pretty good in the 3rd.

And they blew a 20 point lead. But only the Mavs do that.

1 rebound by Dirk a few games back
Now 13.
Don't think he did do anything different, though. Most of them were easy rebounds falling his way without any Raptors close to him.
Subpar performances by Peja and Roddy will go unnoticed and that's probably a good thing.

Mavs ARE deep this year
Watching this game made me realize that the Mavs are deeper this year than they have been in the past. What an absolute advantage to be able to continue to rotate guys into a game until you find a player who is hot either offensively or defensively that night. In years past Mavs players would have to play through their slumps in a game, with the hope they would heat up. I can just see Stackhouse in my mind trying to work his way into a game--ugghhhhh. It used to be also that someone like Barea could catch fire every once in a while to take over a game and push the Mavs over the top. This years it's more like there are 4 or 5 guys getting it done on both ends of the floor by the end of the night, and that by the 4th quarter Carlisle has found the right mix. What a luxury to be such a deep team.
In addition, I don't believe I have ever seen a Mavs team, other than this one, that didn't have to rely on Dirk at some point to push them over the top in most games. Seems this year Dirk coasts a bit because he can. He really hasn't seemed to have to work as hard as he has in years past. Sure he gets his 24 points or so, but it sure seems to me he isn't working as hard to get them. I imagine this is why his rebounding numbers are down. I don't doubt we could see Dirk unleash his inner beast (some of the best memories of which have come at the expense of the Spurs in playoffs games) if the need arises. We'll see what happens in the playoffs.

So is the NBA's best defensive efficiency 97.3 or 99.8?

Dirk had 31/13/2/1 with a +13 in 34 minutes?
But...according to 90% of the GDT he was lazy, didn't rebound, and his ft shooting is a serious concern.
Surely the boxscore is a misprint.

Ajinca was clearly in there to take Nowitzki out
Nowitzki had a knee-to-knee collision with Ajinca and then Ajinca fouled him on a 3-point play where Dirk landed on his left elbow.

Please. I am prhaps Dirk's biggest fan in the world. But prety much all year he hasn't rebounded worth a damn. And even through the first quarter and and into the second quarter he still didn't rebound well.
He turned it on from that point on. Maybe he is conserving himself. Whatever. But we as Mav fans would just like him to not to appear "lazy" while going after boards. And he has appeared lazy for a lot of the season on the boards.
I am far from "liked" on this board by some. Hell, I am even on ignore by several posters. But quit taking one criticism in one part of the game and fighting with the entire board over it.
