IRVING, Texas -- Looking to bolster their run defnse, the Cowboys signed eight-year veteran defensive tackle Chad Eaton Wednesday to a one-year contract worth $660,000.

Eaton, who missed all of last season after undergoing multiple knee surgeries in 2003, played five years with the Patriots, before playing two more seasons with the Seahawks.

The defensive tackle, who was already practicing with the Cowboys Wednesday afternoon at Valley Ranch, has 248 career tackles, including three seasons with more than 70. Eaton, who also has 15.5 career sacks and 16 pass deflections, played his first season in the NFL under Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells, who was then coaching the Patriots.

If this was already posted then just delete it. I'm not sure what EAton still has in him but he was a decent player the season before the injury.

If his knees hold up this is a very good signing.
