PGT: Mavs Crap the Bed, Again
Thanks for turning the ball over 3 times in the last minute, OJ.
Brand was awful. Crowder played the worst 3 seconds of an NBA game ever.

Thanks to Mayo for the loss btw...
Like i said, a L at the end was "better" than watching it for 5 more minutes and lose it then!

It went from shades of Deron and Dirk trading 3s at the end to shades of Z-Bo's game winner against us in 2010-11. Freakin garbage.

Least. 3 people cared enough for a Pgt
...and we didn't have to play 53 min to lose it

OJ averages in crunchtime like two TO per minute...just let him catch and shoot...

This is getting out of control. NINE OT losses... Effing NINE. Here are my observations....
1) OJ Mayo has super potential... But he is a bonehead. I swear in EVERY game in the 4th, he has some stupid turnovers. I don't know what his deal is but he has already cost us a few games this year just from his play alone in the 4th.
2) Dirk is back. He looked good. I look for him to continue to look for his shot.
3) Darren Collison isn't as bad as people make him out to be. I think at times he tries to force passes and be too much of a distributor. If you let him attack the lane and try to look for his shots.... Things open up for everyone else. His defense wasn't bad at all tonight either.
... I am getting tired of all of these close games. It's out of control.

Mayo is just braindead the last several minutes. He had a wide open three... passes it up to drive. Then decides to try and throw it through three defenders to Dirk...

I had the option of going to sleep or watching this game.
The hardcore fail part of it is that I'm not sleepy anymore.

I am almost tempted to say that OJ shouldn't even be in the game come crunch time. Dahntay Jones is much better defensively and uses his brain. We aren't looking for him to score... Just contribute and not put the team in the hole like OJ seems to do every 4th.

Brand was just such dead weight tonight. His stint in the third quarter was the biggest reason for this loss.
Mavs were tied with 5 minutes left. Another overtime loss, as far as I'm concerned.
Funny thing is, if Dirk doesn't take and make a 3 with 11 seconds left, we don't lose this game in regulation.

Sorry on the OT comment. I was thinking it would go to OT before the LA shot. But you get what I am saying. OJ craps the bed every 4th QTR it seems like

Yeah. Sorry about that. Dem mods need to get off twitter and merge.
edit: Ending reminded me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uthODtcLGTI. Of course, that and our last 20+ blown lead against Portland were both in the year we won the championship. So, there's that.

I've gotta believe that the cadre of Mayo, Collison, and Roddy have the lowest BBIQ of any rotation guards in the NBA. The Mavs should trade for Javale McGee to make it four of a kind. Carlisle would be pulling out his hair if he had any. Such poor guard play during the stretch run.

Same here... I'm sick and could have used the sleep.
My throat feels like it has a layer of mayo caked on it. Not sure it's the bacteria.

I usually don't bitch about the coach, but Carlisle really effed this one up. I thought to myself when he put Crowder in, "Well he will commit a foul." Sure enough he did not disappoint. Then I thought at the end, "Well R.C. absolutely will not foul and make this a free throw game." Sure enough we didn't. No excuse for the coach tonight. This loss, while not exclusively, is on his shoulders. No other coach would have given the other team a chance to tie with 6 seconds left up by three. In this situation you send them to the line.
Just pathetic.
Oh well, Fuck it, Go Mavs!

That charge on Mayo shouldn't have been called. He was in the air already as Price was still moving. Bloody refs.

Why are you the only person that has said this so far in any of the 29 PGTs? You don't have to answer. But I am curious. Because that was a really terrible call. I'm wondering how the ref who blew that one felt when he was watching the video replay of OJ getting fouled trying to figure out how much time to give the Blazers for their chance to complete that hatchet job.

Also Crowder with that supid foul..and how the hell did we end up with 6 players on the court? Were those players absent in school the day the had math class? Can't remember if Blazers converted as they were there at the line too many times.

First year dirk isn't an Allstar
First year mavs dont make the playoffs fit the first time since dirk arrived
And we don't even have rebuilding plans or picks.

The Mavs need someone with half a brain to run the offense down the stretch. You could probably live with either Mayo or Collison on the court if they had a leader to control things. But these youngsters are just not very smart and they detract from the play of Dirk, Marion, and Carter.
Its time to make a trade in order to split up this dubious duo.

And Lakers look to have figured things out. That 8 seed is starting to fade a little, like McFly's family picture in Back to the Future.

Pretty sure the shot clock was down to like 6 after Marion fumbled the ball. He had to put that shot up.

While Mayo's late-game turnovers were back-breaking, let's remember that one of them was a horrible call and, more importantly, he was so damn good for 3 1/2 quarters that we should probably not focus too much negativity on him.
The reality, for me, after watching this game is that Dirk is still not Dirk, and he's not going to be in enough time for anything interesting to happen this season. Yeah, Dirk's offense is better, and yeah, he did some heavy lifting in the 4th. It was fun to see. That three was awesome. But the reality is that Dirk is making Chris Kaman look like vintage Ben Wallace right now. He can't guard anyone and he's not boarding. Look at the line JJ Hickson turned in and realize that Dirk guarded him for the majority of the game. It was really hard to watch at times.
I am (mostly) confident that Dirk will get all facets of his game back in shape eventually, but it's going to be too late.
Oh, and blaming Carlisle for Jae Crowder's Middle School JV foul is absurd.

Nothing special here
http://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelo...437/jj-hickson
Look at his last 8 games... (FG % and rebounding)
Mavs do not lose games because of Dirk...or bad luck.
If you lose 10 close games in a row (or something like that), you are simply not good enough.
