Default All Star Game Thread

I heard Dirk say in an interview that he hopes he gets more involved than he did last year. Personally, I just hope he doesn't pick up an injury ala Brad Miller style.

I think it'll be a close game with the West pulling out a win.

Well, I'm watching it with extremely low expectations.

Some chic is currently slaughtering "Rocky Mountain High". Things can only go up from here.

That "Rocky Mountain High" song was absolutely TERRIBLE! I'm gonna watch for a bit....probably until Nash starts playing with Dirk. Once one is benched, I'll probably get to my hw instead.

I can't figure out who is more undeserving to be an All-Star - Grant Hill or Vince Carter.

Shaq, you don't have to intentionally make yourself look foolish shooting FT's. That will happen naturally.

I don't really know if Hill is deserving to be an starter - but forwards in the East are a fairly underwelming list anyway. I don't really know who would deserve his spot - employee # 8 perhaps.

Dirk is a lot more involved more than last year. Last year he rarely got to touch the ball. He ran up and down the court and never recived a pass much less even a channce to get an assist or a point. Tonight he is getting the ball quite a bit. And his stats are much better although they don't matter.

Still want to see him tomahawk one on the break, and then do his patented "windmill follow through" after the dunks it.

East on 17-0 run to take a 7 point lead! Yikes. And Grant Hill on the business end of an alley-oop during that run (although I'd say he's the more undeserving All Star b/w he and VC...VC at least playing like an All Star the last month of the season before this game).

The West could easily take the East if they start trying. Their frontcourt dominance is just too much.

pretty boring game

nash isn't pushing the ball nearly as hard as he usually does..

nice dunk by carter, but it is getting old

mcgrady has done it twice in the last two years and now carter does it too..i want to see him leap over everyone in the lane and throw one down like he did against detroit a couple years ago

That VC dunk was rediculous. Really wish he'd make a comeback to the dunk competition. Kobe's defense has been good, but he's turning the ball over...Dirk is looking good. I bet he gets more minutes in the second half.

Default RE: All Star Game Thread

from the clyde drexler chat that's going on at NBA.com

---

Matjaz, Slovenia: Who do you think is the best international player, that ever played in NBA ? ( Dirk nowitzki, Drazen Petrovic, Peja Stojakovic ) ?

Clyde Drexler: Because I played with Drazen Petrovic, he was the first All-Star European player, I'm biased. But I really like Nowitzki's game as well.
