Rangers to drop catcher Kreuter 04/29/2003 Associated Press ARLINGTON – Catcher Chad Kreuter is being dropped by the Texas Rangers, who were hoping he would make Chan Ho Park a better pitcher. Kreuter was told of the move after Sunday's game. Because the Rangers were off Monday, they said his removal from the roster will take effect Tuesday. Kreuter usually caught Park when they were with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Park's success there made him a coveted free agent after the 2001 season and the Rangers signed him for $65 million over five years. After Park struggled last season, the Rangers brought Kreuter to spring training. He made the club and went 2-for-18 in seven games, including six starts. Park, though, hasn't improved. He's 1-3 with a 7.16 ERA after allowing five runs on four hits and five walks in four innings Sunday. Texas overcame that to beat the New Yankees 10-7. |

he's a good guy..hate to see it. but, his fate was tied directly to the performance of chan ho park..unfortunately, that spells failure for anyone.
who's taking his roster spot?... hmm, interesting. the rangers have some big time decisions to make. Mario Ramos appears to have turned it around..will he make it to the majors towards the end of the season? Nix or hart?..will they crack the roster?.. Benoit? |

This is a horrible move by the Rangers. I'm willing to bet Park's ERA balloons to at least 7.5 now.

Haven't heard who will take his spot yet. it will be effective Tuesday so they are probably thinking about it.

About time three catchers on the active roster riddiculous. The next to go should be ryan drese, and John Thompson these guys aren't going to be part of the master plan why are they here now. Maybe Lance Nix will get his shot with the big club with this latest roster move.

he has excellent stuff and has pitched pretty well so far this season. |

They brought up Donnie Sadler, and mike lamb from triple A Oklahoma. Chan Ho Park was placed on the fifteen day DL for sparing us to death.
