Solid win, but not sure what happened to our 2nd unit once the 2nd half got started because Dirk and co could've used the rest.

Appropriate squirrel nuts pictures, but Kidd also deserves love. Looked to really control the offense at times, and I thought he had some really timely rebounds. He looked like vintage Kidd tonight.

(I am getting good at this)
Predictions:
Monster game from Wright, he'd love to demolish his old team = 15+ pts, 7+ rebounds, 2+ blocks - Check
Roddy plays good, nothing stellar but good. = 10+ points, 5+ rebounds, 3+ assists - Almost
Dirkie boy with the usual 20+ points - CHECK
Rest for Kiddo so maybe 7+ assists -CHECK
JET with 15+ pts - Check
Matrix with 8+ rebounds - Check
Easy win - Check

Dirk took some really tough shots and missed. Pretty much forced shots, but 27 points isnt bad. 1 rebound is horrible. Reminds of some garbage guy we let go of.
Another must win tomorrow night. Let's keep the LO-less streaking going.

I really need to make one for Kidd - 9 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks... Vintage, indeed.

Dallas is also 6-0 when their bench scores at least 54 points.

For a team like the Mavs, it's not predicting the wins that is hard. It's predicting the losses.

Good win, but Mavs have now seven games left to figure out their defense.
Only two to fall off a little bit tonight are West and Ian. Delonte has only four assists over the last three and he is playing like a SG more than ever.
Dirk's stats look shaky as well because he took a whole lot of shots and didn't rebound.
Kidd, Wright, Marion fantastic
Terry, Roddy, Carter great
Haywood OK

Do you do any sort of composite stuff? I gloss over your game reports for the very reason that they are a small sample size.

What do you mean specifically? Defense? Delonte?

The Ian/Wright combo got the slightest uptick in actual court time tonight. It was 4 minutes vs SAC, 5 tonight (Still w VC, Roddy & Jet).
That lineup has averaged 52.9% FG, 40% 3PT, 33.3% FT, 4.0 boards, 1.0 assist, 1.0 TO, 1.0 BLK, 3.0 PFs and 10.5 points.

What do I mean specifically? I don't mean anything specifically.
I mean that the results of your very impressive work are not often presented in a way that would be meaningful.

He is such a joy to watch play. It is like a clinic out there. I would love it if he would take his layups.

Sorry, still don't get it.
I do my statistical bullets after (almost) every game, which is a compilation of stats that I think are interesting for the particular game. It is what it is, a snap-shot of the teams/a players performance.
Dunno why you remain cryptic about where the sample lacks or stats aren't meaningful. Just give me an example within my post, which I assume caught your attention.

Yeah he had a wide open one late in the game, which would have sealed the triple double. Not sure why he refused to take it, but I assume he wanted to eat more time off that clock.

I do, but that stuff is on MavsMoneyball. I throw out the bullets here because I have fun doing it, that's all. Think everybody should be able to put a one game sample into context.

This was a solid win by the Mavs, but they let the Warriors come back too easily, which awakened the crowd and brought back some bad memories of the first round loss in 2007.
The energy of Wright is off the charts, I also like what I see from Roddy. he's slowly but steadily maturing.
Can't wait to see Dirk in the playoffs, I think he's in great shape. Wait until he can go all out, not worrying about conserving energy and stuff.

Ugh good win
Would have been a nice win if not for the lackluster 2nd half
Time to nitpick
Ian was a mess last night. Not only did he let several rebounds slip through his hand, he kept messing up the spacing on the offense. There was one play in particular where Marion was posted up and Roddy was trying to deliver the ball and Ian was standing right in the passing lane.
Dirk has to pop out or slip his picks sometimes. You cannot just stand there after you set the pick.
Roddy must not defer to Terry after that first half he had. First half looked like rookie Roddy. I like the tempo at which he was bringing the ball up. He was getting the ball at the half court line at the 19/20sec mark.

Points irrelevant to the game:
-Oracle Arena sucks.
-It always seems to be Bollywood Night when the Mavs come into town - either that or it's just a coincidence that it happened last year, too.
-It was raining freaking hard last night (by CA standards, at least).

I also thought the dirk pnr seemed off. I would have to study tape to know if it was dirk being lazy, dribbler being lazy or the dubs defense to stay at home on him so much.
Man jet was pretty good last night as well. If he was open he knocked em down. And he was getting into the lane as well. Nice..

Agree, when you rebuild inside an existing shell, it makes for a horrid stadium that tries to get into current standards. Probably major reason why this ownership group wants to run when the lease expires.
Yea, they ran Bollywood night against the Mavs too. One of the owners is of Indian descent.
Thunder and lightening too.

Bullets:
Game:- Mavs beat the Warriors 122.72 to 112.86 with their 3rd best offensive performance all season.
- For the second straight game, Mavs rebound >30% of their misses, but grab only 66.67% of the defensive boards
- They set a new season-high in AST/TOV-ratio (3.00), but also allowed 29.58 AST P100 (2nd best for an opp this season)
- Dallas shot 12-for-21 on long 2FG (16+ feet), but Warriors attempted 30 at the rim, made 20.
Lineups:- The starting unit outscored the Warriors by 13.19 PP100 on 70.38 Def, ending a drought of two games where they had been overwhelmed
- Meanwhile bench units thrived, set a new season high in OffEff at 148.67 (+23.79 PP100) and shot 69.96 TS% (also a season-high)
- Best unit was Kidd-JET-Carter-Dirk-Wright, outscoring the Warriors by 37.78 on 144.82 OffEff (23-17)
- Same lineup with Roddy at the point not far behind, outscored Warriors 20-16 (+34.48) and scored an amazing 172.41 PP100
- Terrios worked best as far as points differential (+28.86), but on putrid 'D' (129.87). Team scored 86.75 in the Paint and off FTs
- Jasons and Kiddois got outscored (nice Roddy-Oop though)
- C-Watch: Wright got most minutes (+9.88, 124.47 D), but /w Haywood, who only played in starting unit numbers were better (+13.19, 70.38 D)
- Unadj. +/- to Dirk (+83.83 PP100). Effs: 128.15 Off - 97.57 Def. Not loved: Kidd, West, Wright, Marion, Ian
Players:- Wright leads PER (30.1), Kidd WS48 (0.262), WP48 (0.698). JET, Roddy, Marion, Carter with good/great games as well. Wood solid.
- Dirk, West, Ian statistically didn't contribute to the win, although Dirk only falls off in WP48, which highly values rebounding
- Best rebounderi n limited minutes was Ian (21.1%), Marion almost equal (20.0%). Carter 85.7 TS%, Kid assisted on 42.9% of Mavs FGs
- All guards combined for 23 Assists and only four TOs
- Terry and West shot 6-for-9 from 16+ 2FG, all Mavs except Kidd had at least one attempt make at the rim (Wright: 4, Roddy & Dirk: 3)
Rankings & Stuff:- Mavs remain one of the best teams against opposition on a B2B. They outscore opp by +6.97 (4th) and hold them to 98.35 PP100 (3rd)
- Gameflow chart
