Mavs maybe getting Devin Harris back!
Mavs just might be getting Devin Harris back as a 3 team deal that includes Dallas, Denver and New Jersey. I'm all for it, after all Harris is still young and has palyoff exp. including the Finals. He can shoot, defend, drive to the basket and he's good at taking charges, not to mention he's very quick. Still a very valuable player, just on the wrong team. Lets just hope that we don't give up too much for him. Who do you think Cuban is going to trade for Harris? Better not be Roddy B., or J.J.

If it was an actual trade, we'd have those details.

Found this on NJN's BSNation blog:
Quote:
As Melo Drama Finally Comes to a Close at Madison Square Garden, Nets Lose Harris, May Gain Felton
According to some reports, Devin Harris, will be dealt to Dallas in a three team deal that would also send two Nets first rounders to Denver and bring Raymond Felton and Russian big man Timofey Mozgov to New Jersey.

Mozgov was already traded to Denver, wasn't he?

They are saying he's going to be part of the Denver-Dallas-NJ deal. FWIW.

I was wondering if it was a poorly-worded repost or if they had more information
I guess we'll know in the next 60 hours or so

So where does the "you cant trade a player right after he's already been traded" rule come in effect?

I can't say for sure, but I do know there have been guys who have been flipped again right after midseason trade. Who can forget Rasheed Wallace's time as an Atlanta Hawk? Well, probably just about everyone because people tend to only remember him finishing the year holding the O'Brien trophy over his head in a Pistons jersey.

technically it wouldnt if the deal could be done in two parts. One Mozgov and one for Felton. Denver just couldnt trade both players in a single trade.

Makes no sense to bring in Harris though. Except you want to move JJB.

No longer an idea? I'm pretty sure it's still an idea, albeit far-fetched.
And what is a nick?

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reported Monday that Dallas, Denver, and New Jersey have discussed a three-way deal that would land Devin Harris with the Mavs, and Raymond Felton and Timofey Mozgov with the Nets.
Why Dallas would be looking to bring on Harris is the real question here, and this could be a clue to a larger strategy unfolding. If this rumor pans out, owners of Jason Kidd have right to be concerned that he would be moved to shooting guard, but with the question of why Dallas would do this unresolved still we wouldn't move the needle on either player just yet.

I'm a big Devin Harris fan but this makes no sense. We already have Kidd, Terry, Roddy and JJ. Why would we want to bring back Devin, when we already have 3 combo guards, and a HOF PG?

Devin could backup Kidd at the PG spot or maybe Devin can start and we can bring Kidd off the bench with Marion and Terry.....Kidd should only be playing 30 min. a night
Jet will backup Roddy at the SG
When the playoffs start I seriously doubt we can count on JJ more than 15 mins a game
I dont know, but im sure RC can find some PT for Devin

-Kidd is 37-years-old.
-Terry and Roddy aren't PG's.
-Barea isn't good enough to be a starting PG.
Is Devin Harris starting to make sense now?

Exactly....Harris could be our PG of the future since Kidd has one more year of +20 minutes in this league

To include Barea to such a deal could also make sense for Denver as they are short of backups behind Ty cause Felton is one of the more likely pieces to be moved. Maybe also right time to sell high on JJB.

You're right on the money, UD.
PS- Isn't it ironic you're the one telling me why Devin Harris would be good for us, seems like I've been spoiled by Jason Kidd

I'm still of the opinion that he wouldn't be in their plans long term.
But in the short term he would help and then probably be a trade asset.

Agreed - I was just talking to a friend about the possibility of flipping Devin Harris for Deron Williams in two seasons...
In the meantime, he'd be great to pair with our aging future HOF'er...
