MAVERICK FAN'S SHOULD BE PROUD
Shouldn't Maverick's fans be proud about the
recent media success this team is enjoying,
instead of being paranoid?

Maybe it's because we were the worst team in
professional sports for over a decade. Maybe it's
because people just don't like success. Maybe people
look at themselves, and expect every one else to be as
big of a failure as they are. I don't know what it is,
but it's really starting to get on my nerves. I mean
I just don't get it, and maybe over the next couple of
week's someone will explain it to me, but for now,
I'll just keep asking the simple question of why
people are so paranoid about the recent Media success
this franchise is experiencing?
Posting #'s that hasn't been seen in the NBA
since Kareem. That probably has something to do with
it. Getting the call to be on David Letterman. Maybe
that's it. I know. Getting named "Time's Person of the
Week", and getting on the cover of Sport's
Illustrated. That's it. I get it now... How about
Sweeping KG's T-Wolves in 3, when it was suppose to be
the most contested series of the first round. Someone
please hip me to what it is that is making you so
paranoid. Maybe I'm stupid. I just don't get it.
Ever since I've been in Dallas(1980) this is the
first time that I've ever seen the media cover this
team the way it is right now. I've never seen our
Dallas Maverick's in such a positive view of people
like Bob Costa's, and Dr. Jack Ramsey. Hell, even
Charles Barkley is starting to take notice, and did
you see Shaq Daddy's comments about Dirk? So why on
God's green earth is everyone so paranoid. I turn on
the local sport's talk show's,and all anyone is
talking about is how big a mistake it was that Nash
flew to New York on his day off to spend a little time
with Dave in the "Big Apple". Hell, it's as if you
thought he walked their, or something. All I've been
hearing is people talk about their concerns that all
this hype is going to swell the Mav's heads the size
of Texas. Get over it, please..........
It seems to me, that maybe people need to just
sit back, and enjoy the moment. I have a really goofy
question to ask you. What happens when the Mav's sweep
the Sac-Town boys in 4? What the hell are you going to
do then? Commit suicide? I realize I may be a little
mela dramatic about what is going on, and don't get me
wrong. I do understand to a certain point.. No, not
really, but it sound's good. I don't understand.
I am so proud of this team it's ill. They have
accomplished more in this year than any team in
Maverick's history. No, they haven't gotten to the
Western Conference Finals yet, but the week isn't over.
It's my opinion that by the time this next week is
over, these Maverick's will have done what only one
other Maverick's team has ever done. Make it to the
Western Conference Finals. Understand that these
Maverick's are the most talented team in the NBA, and
not even Shaq's Laker's have the fire power that this
team can put on the court at any time. They are
focused, and they are confident.
The difference between these Maverick's, and the
Maverick's of the 80's isn't the team, but the fans.
Back in the 80's the fans knew this team was good, and
they knew that no one, and I mean no one could come
into their home, and beat them. The fan's knew it, and
so did the team. Well the only difference is now the
player's know their good, but the fan's aren't
convinced. At least not yet....

So what's it going to take for the Mav's fan's to
really get on board, and let them know that they feel
the same way about them that they do themselves'. The
National media has more confidence in this team than
you do, and that kind of bother's me. The fans should
be cocky, and arrogant. They should be talking smack,
and letting the Webber(underdog)Kings know that they
aren't welcome in Big "D", and they had better hold
suit on their own court, because if Dallas wins one in
Sacramento it's over. Personally I don't think the
King's are going to win one game. But that's my
opinion.
You see, I get it. I'm cocky, and I'm arrogant. I
know how good this team is. The one thing I don't know
is how good they will become. How dominant a team they
will become in the years to come kind of frightens me.
But it doesn't make me paranoid. When I see Dirk on
the cover of Sport's Illustrated, I buy it. When I
see Nash on David Letterman, I watch it, and when I
see Dirk being named "Times person of the Week", I
stand up, and push my chest out, and say, "Yea, I'm a
old school Rowdy, and that's my boy". Proud doesn't
even come close to the way I feel about my Dallas
Maverick's. Not even close.
Have a nice day, and thank's for playing....
Maverick's sweep the Kings.
