RE:anyone got ESPN Insider? Draft stuff
Campbell's the 12th rated QB:
Grade: 57
Comments: Strengths: Absolutely looks the part. Great height, long arms and excellent overall size. Big hands and does a great job in terms of selling fakes and handling the football. Has a quick set. Is a good athlete that can buy a lot of second chances by scrambling outside of the pocket and can pick up some first downs when he tucks the ball and runs. He has very good speed and is adequately elusive in the open field as a runner. He has a strong arm and can drive the ball downfield in the vertical passing game. He is at his best when rolling outside the pocket and is a dual threat in those situations. Is a hard worker and a high-character person.
Weaknesses: Production hasn't always matched his physical tools. Has been muched improved as a senior but still does not see the entire field and will struggle to consistently find his secondary target. He can still be erratic as a passer. He can make the same throw twice, hitting his receiver in stride the first time and then missing him the second time.
Bottom Line: Campbell has always had excellent size, good athletic ability and above average arm strength, but his poor decision making skills, lack of poise in the pocket, indecisiveness and erratic arm have haunted him. Throughout his first three seasons as a starter, Campbell consistently held onto the ball too long, threw too many passes up for grabs when he ran out of time, missed open receivers downfield and overthrew to many of the receivers that he did find open. However, so far as a senior, Campbell seems to know where he wants to go with the football, is making quicker decisions, is seeing the field so much better and has shown more touch and accuracy particularly in the vertical passing game than ever before. Campbell has the physical tools to make quite an impression during post-season workouts. If he continues to blossom under Borges' tutelage between now and then, Campbell could go from being an afterthought as a late-round quarterback prospect to a possible late-Day 1 selection in the 2005 NFL draft.
Ronnie Brown is the higest rated RB with a grade of 95. Benson and Williams are both 94's.
