GDT:MAVS vs ROCKETS (home opener)
I like some of what I saw from the Mavs against Indiana. The D has to do a better job, but we def. have the offensive power.
Rockets are a different team with Harden being allowed to play the role that he really is best suited for and always have the ball in his hands. I expect a good game and hopefully Simba and some of our other defenders will help keep things under control.
Barnes quietly had a very good 1st game and I expect him to do that throughout the season. He doesn't seem to blow you away but when you look at the end he has decent numbers and hopefully that will translate into a positive for the Mavs and some Ws.
MAVS 109
ROCKETS 103
GO MAVS

The selfish beard versus the clean and well-shaven team; where's Olajuwon when you need class? Anyways, Mavs' defense will take care of the nasty beard and the big man from Australia will take Capela to school. All in all, a win at home after a well fought game against the Pazers.
Mavs - 108
Crockets - 100

Easy no-win... Even if we win, we gotta watch the Rockets play.

If Dirk is going to sit a handful of games this season, I'd be okay if they were Rockets games. I don't think he's a good fit for the pace the game is going to be played at, though only having to guard Ryan Anderson wouldn't be so bad.
Are we thinking Act gets the start?

Screenshot not available yet, but JJ is starting, so it's Deron/JJ/Wes/Barnes/Bogut. Not thrilled to see Wes starting at the 3, but tonight it shouldn't really matter since the Rockets are probably starting Harden/Gordon/Ariza/Anderson/Capela.

Tonight's game I think we try out Bogut playing 20+ plus minutes. If not then rotate Mejri to sub him in. Because it's clear that Carlise needs to rely on his centers now. We have a vet center(Bogut), playoff experienced one(Mejri), and a rookie who can bring some energy(Hammons). At the end of the day Powell isn't a center if we have these type players on the roster.

Honestly that's good he restores himself at the beginning of the season. He really shouldn't play heavy minutes unless it's playoffs.

Pretty sure I read Dirk talked about having a sore Achilles after Wednesday's game too. Nip that stuff in the bud.

Looks like the Rockets are gonna take 1 million threes a game this year. Seems like they never miss against us so this should be fun.

I swear I've never seen Ariza torch any other team since he signed with Houston besides the Mavs. Super annoying.

And has Deron lost his playmaking skills? Horrible turnover at the top of the 3 point line.

Barnes is really, really good on offense as a small-ball four. Not sure he's a long-term fit as a traditional three.
Defensively, he guards wings both in space and in the post about as well as anybody in the league.

Then that is all good news since Dirk needs an eventual replacement.

I talked a lot of crap. I am watching tonight's game... even though we don't have Dirk playing.

Well, it's about the home crowd getting into it too. There are much more options to score if it's done right this year, than last.

Foot injury as always. Sucks because the team needs his defense.

So unimpressed with Bogut.
Wes will never make layups. But stifling Harden
Barnes looking great at the 4. DWill staying hot.

Make Dirk the starting 5.
I like the idea of the starting lineup being:
Williams | Matthews | Anderson | Barnes | Nowitzki
