The 3.5 trade exception is good for one calender year. Hardaway can be signed for less not effecting the exception. Martin and the others are here in case Riley sweet talks Hardaway into staying in Miami. I would look toward these types of team and players for use of the exception.
1. A team with an over priced player that is looking to dump salary 2. Two years are less on his contract.
3. Physical presence
Best options seem to be:
1.Anthony Mason: A Tough guy who Nelson has handled well.
2.Dale Davis: Consumate pro, nearly came to Dallas last year.
3.Alan Henderson: Not flashy but solid,might be a bargain

Some of you caponomic majors out there are in a better position to speculate on names and contracts. The trade exception is an asset, that will not be needed on Hardaway, it is gone in a year, it just has not been Cuban/Nelson's style to waste an asset. It will be used in some way. These are my potential options what are some others?
