Rigaudeau to Pamesa
Rigaudeau to Pamesa, Van Lacke joins Polaris Murcia - July 21, 2003 - by Natxo Mendaza
After a quiet weekend, this week started with two movements in ACB. The big one, the arrival of Antoine Rigaudeau (200-G-71) to Valencia. The French guard will play in Pamesa the next two seasons after the agreement signed today. Rigaudeau, who becomes the first signing of the club this summer, will be introduced to the media tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, Polaris Murcia announced officially the joining of Federico Van Lacke (188-G-80), who comes from Lobos Cantabria (LEB). The Argentinean forward signed a one year deal.

Does he forfeit his NBA contract? Do the Mavs officially now get his cap money back? Not that it matters really....just curious.

RE: Rigaudeau to Pamesa
I remember reading (here) that the Mavs would have to buy out his contract in order to have his roster spot available for someone else.
I assumed the Mavs would do so.
Maybe that's not how it works?

Happy trails Rigadon't. Not only am I anti-french right now, but he really was'nt going to be a good fit unless he was an unbelievable Gunner.....which he was'nt.

RE: Rigaudeau to Pamesa
what if riga just retired from the NBA? Would that open up his spot? Do you still have to buy out his contract if he just retired?

Rigaudeau to Pamesa
He ain't on the roster; he don't take up a roster spot. Period. His salary however may still count against the cap, although that is a moot point.
On an entirely unrelated point, a couple of days ago Gary Adornato ("GA" or "GAdornato") started posting again over at LMF. Gary, for a while, was writing for dallasbasketball.com; but that was years ago. I don't think he has posted anywhere for a year and a half. I think he was sick or hurt; I don't recall the details. I point this out because anything he writes should be required reading for everyone. I challenge everyone to read every one of his posts. Afterwards, see if you can disagree with a word he says. Chances are you won't.

Agree 100% with my ex-LMF and D-M recruiter, Dooby. GA is just a very special guy...I was so glad to see that he was back to posting.

RE: Rigaudeau to Pamesa
I'm glad he is gone. Riga was an embarrassment to the Dallas Mavericks organization.
