RE:Do you do it? Dal/Phi/Tor
If you left Big Dog out, I would consider it more.
I think that Dallas wins this trade from a talent standpoint. Unfortunately, this trade brings back two guys who don't like dirty work and do want plenty of shot attempts.
I like Bosh, but not this much...

Hell yes. I'd do that deal if you excluded Rose. I'd do that deal if you excluded Bosh. I just might do that deal if you excluded Rose AND Bosh.

RE: Do you do it? Dal/Phi/Tor
i wouldnt do this trade for 2 reasons. first : we dont need 7 offense weapons . rose and robinson take and need too many shots and they dont knock down that many.
second : this will make our defense even worse .
toronto wouldnt do this trade either.

RE:Do you do it? Dal/Phi/Tor
Reasons for Dallas to do the trade.
1) talent upgrade
2) trade bait
3) Bosh
Reason to not do the trade for Dallas
1) volume scorers
2) $$$$$
3) attitude/chemistry
Reasons for Phil
1) $$$ - Walkers contract expiring
2) rid of Big Dogs contract
3) VC for AI - at least got major talent for giving up talent
Reasons to not trade for Phil
1) slightly less talent
2) marketability of AI
Reasons for Toronto
1) Get AI
2) Change
3) Move VC who has been injured, and Rose who has a large contract and bad attitude.
Reasons to not for Toronto
1) Give up too much talent
2) Take on too much money
3) Give up a young BIG

RE:Do you do it? Dal/Phi/Tor
Just from a Dallas standpoint:
You dump Fortson's contract and Wahad's contract and take on Rose's contract. That's pretty much a wash, salary-cap wise, but you undoubtedly get the most talented player in that exchange.
You lose Walker's expiring contract but get Robinson's expiring contract, which is worth $12 million next year (a couple million less than Walker's deal). So you still have an expiring contract to turn around and trade.
On top of it all, you get Chris Bosh?
New roster:
Bosh - Bradley
Nowitzki - Jamison - Najera
Howard - Robinson
Finley - Rose
Nash - Daniels
Yeah, I have to say I'd make that trade. You still have Robinson as a nice trading asset and you still have the MLE to get a banger like Tag.
Imagine the rotation:
Bosh 30 - Bradley/Tag 18
Nowitzki 38 - Jamison 10
Howard 28 - Jamison 20
Finley 35 - Rose 13
Nash 30 - Daniels 18
That's a pretty deep team, any way you look at it.
Oh well, back to reality. Toronto's not going to deal their three best players just to get AI and a bunch of albatrosses on their cap.

RE: Do you do it? Dal/Phi/Tor
Toronto isn't going to move Bosh without talking up names like Nash or Nowitzki. AI is a star, but he is no foundation guy. Losing Bosh and Carter even with cap flexibility is just not enough.

Why did you have to include this "fact" above? It looked so good until this. LOL

Damned facts.
I agree with Doc. Bosh is the foundation of that team's future, at least for now. They're not moving him easily.

RE: Do you do it? Dal/Phi/Tor
Let them keep Bosh. It's still a great trade.
I think I might rather have Rose as our "point forward" than I would Walker. He doesn't rebound as well, but he's a better ball handler and distributor. He's certainly a greater threat from the perimeter. He's not a bad perimeter defender either. Throw Rose into a small ball lineup with Nash, Jamison, Dirk, and Finley, and things could get nasty for our opponents.
Our bench would be nightmarish: Bradley, Big-Dog, Daniels, Howard... throw in a vertan at the mid-level exception, someone like Karl Malone.. It's a Nelson team made in heaven.

IMO,They would get killed by half-court teams with a dominant BIG, if they could slow down the tempo; but they would kill everyone else.

RE:Do you do it? Dal/Phi/Tor
I can't really say I disagree.
Dallas trades: PF Danny Fortson (4.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 0.2 apg in 11.2 minutes)
PF Tariq Abdul-Wahad (4.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 0.2 apg in 11.2 minutes)
PF Antoine Walker (14.1 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 4.5 apg in 35.0 minutes)
Dallas receives: SG Jalen Rose (15.4 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 4.9 apg in 37.6 minutes)
SF Glenn Robinson (16.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.9 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +13.9 ppg, -4.5 rpg, and +1.6 apg.
Toronto trades: SG Jalen Rose (15.4 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 4.9 apg in 37.6 minutes)
SF Vince Carter (22.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.9 apg in 38.0 minutes)
Toronto receives: PF Antoine Walker (14.1 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 4.5 apg in 76 games)
SG Allen Iverson (26.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 6.8 apg in 48 games)
Change in team outlook: +2.6 ppg, +3.4 rpg, and +1.5 apg.
Philadelphia trades: SG Allen Iverson (26.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 6.8 apg in 42.5 minutes)
SF Glenn Robinson (16.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.9 minutes)
Philadelphia receives: PF Danny Fortson (4.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 0.2 apg in 55 games)
PF Tariq Abdul-Wahad (4.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 0.2 apg in 55 games)
SF Vince Carter (22.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.9 apg in 67 games)
Change in team outlook: -16.5 ppg, +1.1 rpg, and -3.1 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
Add Tag with the MLE, and...
new roster:
Tag - Bradley
Nowitzki - Jamison - Najera
Rose - Robinson
Finley - Howard
Nash - Daniels
You still have the ability to trade Robinson's expiring $12 million contract.
A rotation like this is enticing, especially in the regular season:
Tag 20 - Bradley 15 - Nowitzki 13
Nowitzki 25 - Jamison 23
Rose 30 - Jamison 7 - Howard 11
Finley 33 - Howard 15
Nash 30 - Daniels 18

With Tag, Bradley, and Najera available to give fouls in the middle, I can't see them getting killed by the two teams in the league that have a dominant big.

Agreed, but I was under the idea that Malone was there instead of TAG.

RE:Do you do it? Dal/Phi/Tor
I'll roll with that (even though I can't see Malone coming)...
Malone 28 - Bradley 20
Nowitzki 35 - Jamison 13
Rose 28 - Jamison 12 - Howard 8
Finley 33 - Howard 15
Nash 30 - Daniels 18
Shaq and Duncan would get theirs inside, but that's gonna happen anyway. I think we'd control the defensive glass pretty well with Nowitzki and Malone.

Yes, but you really couldn't bang with them all game long. Then late, when you "needed" a stop...not likely. With TAG though, they could bang, and tire them out.
I like the idea of TAG, and Bradley with a quick, shotblocking 5. That 3 headed monster would be able to defend about any type team we might come up against.

I think he's riding pine in Utah... oh wait, that's Keon Clark I'm thinking of.
BTW - Keon is a free agent this year. I doubt he'll draw much more than the veteran minimum.

I think I saw him down at the Social Security office picking up his check. He was in line in front of Dale and Antonio Davis, and just behind Karl Malone, and Reggie Miller.

RE:Do you do it? Dal/Phi/Tor
Another variation on this deal:
Philadelphia trades: Todd MacCulloch ( ppg, rpg, apg in minutes)
SG Allen Iverson (26.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 6.8 apg in 42.5 minutes)
Philadelphia receives: PF Antoine Walker (14.1 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 4.6 apg in 34.9 minutes)
PF Donyell Marshall (14.5 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 1.5 apg in 36.1 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +2.2 ppg, +14.4 rpg, and -0.7 apg.
Dallas trades: PF Danny Fortson (4.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 0.2 apg in 11.2 minutes)
PF Antoine Walker (14.1 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 4.6 apg in 34.9 minutes)
Dallas receives: Todd MacCulloch ( ppg, rpg, apg in games)
PF Jerome Moiso (2.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 0.2 apg in 35 games)
SF Vince Carter (22.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 4.9 apg in 68 games)
Change in team outlook: +7.4 ppg, -4.9 rpg, and +0.3 apg.
Toronto trades: PF Jerome Moiso (2.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 0.2 apg in 11.9 minutes)
PF Donyell Marshall (14.5 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 1.5 apg in 36.1 minutes)
SF Vince Carter (22.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 4.9 apg in 38.1 minutes)
Toronto receives: SG Allen Iverson (26.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 6.8 apg in 48 games)
PF Danny Fortson (4.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 0.2 apg in 55 games)
Change in team outlook: -9.6 ppg, -9.5 rpg, and +0.4 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you do it?
Why Dallas might................VC
Why Phil might............lose the contract of MacCulloch, and get something for AI
Why Tor might..........for losing oft-injured VC, they gain-AI....Fortson is a wash for Marshall, Moiso is a bench player.
