Default 60 day trade hold...

Pardon my ignorance, but why is there the 'no trades for 60 days' rule in the NBA?

My guess - Probably because of the +15% allowance in salary matching. Otherwise you can trade-trade-trade and add 15% each time and circumvent the cap. This slows it down and makes it accdental rather than intentonal

very true. If there wasnt a 60 day rule, a team could increase or decrease salary by 50+% in a month.
that and it helps apartment landlords because the players would have to find an apartment for that period of time.
