Dallas/NJ: The Search for Nashty's Replacement Continues
Antoine Walker/Laettner/Howard for Kidd/Alonzo Mourning
Mavs take on the two Kidd's. Jason and El KIDney (Geez, I crack myself up with my Dad jokes)
But in all seriousness with the Nets looking to slash payroll, dont be surprised if the Mavs go this direction and pick up a more durable PG than Nash who could run Nellie's offense

If Cuban wouldn't pay Nash's contract I wouldn't expect he'd pay Kidd's.

RE:Dallas/NJ: The Search for Nashty's Replacement Continues
nash is a fragile top 5 or 10 point guard.
kidd is a top 2 point guard and has proven to be generally more durable than nash. having kidd play for another 6 years is a less risky proposition than have nash play another 6.

RE: Dallas/NJ: The Search for Nashty's Replacement Continues
Nash may be fragile and I'm not sorry he's gone, but have you seen what Kidd is to be paid for the next 5 years?
04/05- $14,796,000
05/06- $16,440,000
06/07- $18,084,000
07/08- $19,728,000
08/09- $21,372,000
No way Cuban goes after him with his age and knee issues.

Kidd just had knee surgery, and has 5 years and 90 million dollars remaining on his contract. I just don't see it happening.

RE: Dallas/NJ: The Search for Nashty's Replacement Continues
I wouldn't be oposed to that trade. Plus, kidd is just THAT much better than Nash defensively. Offensively, he could shoot a little less....... way less..... but I don't think that'd be a problem. Huge contract? Yes, but I'd definitely say he's more durable.
So: better passer, better defender, worse shooter. That's 2 out of three, I'd take it.

this is stupid...the reasoning goes like thisL: they say no to Nash getting old and too much money and then go out and get a point making far more money with a history of bad knees....not too logical

Isnt Kidd older? Worse for wear after last season?

Jason Kidd is worth the money. He is the best point guard in the league by far. I would make that deal

Kidd's three point and jump shots are worse than mine. He is an excellent passer and runs a team well in halfcourt and on the break. Bottom line too expensive and getting older, not worth thinking about.

RE:Dallas/NJ: The Search for Nashty's Replacement Continues
i dont like the deal because:
1.)kidd's contract
2.)kidd's knee surgery might force him to miss some of the season
3.)after the surgery he might be even more injury prone

Kidd never was a superstar isn't today and never will be a superstar. So why pay him, he can't shoot. He is the most overrated player in the NBA.
