RE: Finely trades
Just give it up, people. Fin isn't going anywhere.

RE:Finely trades
the only logic behind any of those trades is an absolute hatred of finley. you're giving away a very big contributor for nothing. sure, he's in a slump, but his leadership and experience is invaluable to the young players. his role will begin to evolve into that of avery's from a few years ago. giving him away for any of those listed would be an insult to not only finley, but to all mavs faithful.

RE: Finely trades
Someone was mentioning a TAW for Penny trade a while back. Sounded pretty fair.

RE:Finely trades
I'd do the Van Horn trade. I think he's the tweener that would help against big small forwards. He's got two less years on his contract and he's almost as good an outside shooter when left alone as Finley. Next year, if we had Van Horn, we could let Henderson walk & save Mark Cuban some money (I'm always watching out for his pocketbook!).
But I can't see why Milwaukee would do it when they already have Michael Redd.
This might be a possibility, if Milwaukee doesn't believe they can sign Reddallas trades: SG Michael Finley (17.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.5 apg in 38.1 minutes)
SG Marquis Daniels (9.4 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.3 apg in 25.5 minutes)
Dallas receives: SF Keith Van Horn (11.8 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.5 apg in 28.5 minutes)
SG Michael Redd (21.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.5 apg in 38.4 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +7.0 ppg, +1.5 rpg, and -0.8 apg.
Milwaukee trades: SF Keith Van Horn (11.8 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.5 apg in 28.5 minutes)
SG Michael Redd (21.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.5 apg in 38.4 minutes)
Milwaukee receives: SG Michael Finley (17.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.5 apg in 38.1 minutes)
SG Marquis Daniels (9.4 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.3 apg in 25.5 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -7.0 ppg, -1.5 rpg, and +0.8 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
Would you do that?

RE:Finely trades
You bet I would do that trade. Signing Redd may be an issue and losing some chemistry with Daniels.

RE:Finely trades
The owner of the Bucks is a cheap SOB. There is NO way he would take on Finley's remaining contract ($16M next year, then $17M, and then $18M).
Teams don't trade for 32 year old shooting guards unless they are near the end of their contract. Finley has no trade value until the offseason of 2007.
I guess you guys will just have to tolerate his existance until then.

RE:Finely trades
No way I want any part of Spree. Davis is too old to help us. Aferneee not really we have enough combos. Finley just needs to learn to rebound and he will be fine. If he plays like he did against New Orleans and not force shots.

RE:Finely trades
How about Finley and Armstrong to Portland for Van Exel and Daruis Miles?

RE: Finely trades
How about Fin for Eddie Jones. Finley will definitely like that because he'll be with Shaq and Wade. That will make Miami deadlier with Fin's outside shooting. Why the Mavs want Jones? Who knows.

RE:Finely trades
and why would Miami pull the trigger. Jones can hit the three, he earns a little less, and he's contracted for a shorter period.
And Finley has a trade kicker.

RE:Finely trades
Dallas trades: PG Darrell Armstrong (5.6 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 3.0 apg in 18.1 minutes)
SG Michael Finley (17.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.7 apg in 38.5 minutes)
Dallas receives: T.J. Ford (No games yet played in 2004/05)
SF Keith Van Horn (11.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 26.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -11.8 ppg, -0.8 rpg, and -4.3 apg.
Milwaukee trades: T.J. Ford (No games yet played in 2004/05)
SF Keith Van Horn (11.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 26.6 minutes)
Milwaukee receives: PG Darrell Armstrong (5.6 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 3.0 apg in 18.1 minutes)
SG Michael Finley (17.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.7 apg in 38.5 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +11.8 ppg, +0.8 rpg, and +4.3 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
This trade makes a little bit of sense.
Fin gets to go back to Wisconsin. Dallas takes the chance on TJ Ford ever making it back, but he gets to come back home to find out.
KVH would end up being the 6th man.
Dallas would have a brighter future if TJ made it back. Him and Harris, with Terry being moved to the 2 Guard. Stack/Howard starting with the ability to match up with anyone.
Mil would get Fin, and a PG for this year w/o tying them down at the PG place.

RE:Finely trades
here's the best one, IMO
Dallas trades: SG Michael Finley (17.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.7 apg in 38.6 minutes)
Dallas receives: SG Jalen Rose (16.7 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.2 apg in 30.4 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -0.5 ppg, -1.1 rpg, and -0.5 apg.
Toronto trades: SG Jalen Rose (16.7 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.2 apg in 30.4 minutes)
Toronto receives: SG Michael Finley (17.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.7 apg in 38.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +0.5 ppg, +1.1 rpg, and +0.5 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
Due to Dallas and Toronto being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Dallas and Toronto had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Mavs get a better ball handler and a player with one less year on his deal
