Robert Javtokas Great prospect...
Robert Javtokas.. The kid is 25 y.o. Video doesn't have any jumpers, but that can be fix in the NBA. He would be great addition to our team.

Stats?
Looks to me like a player that is unique for Europe but that you will find like sand on the beach in America. Tall and atheletic.

They do own his rights and the rumor is that he'll sign with them this summer. Some rumors say that Maccabi is going after him but one of the Lithuanian papers said his deal is done with the Spurs and just waiting until they can make it official next month. Not sure what to believe but it's really up to him whether he wants to join the NBA or continue playing in Europe.
He will be on the summer league team this year as will Ian Mahinmi and Viktor Sanikidze.
Here's a look at Ian Mahinmi. He's still another year (possibly two) away but he looks VERY interesting.

Some talk about Louis Scola joining the team as well. His buyout is supposedly reasonable this time around whereas it wasn't last summer. We'll see.
Bottom line: Spurs fans expect Javtokas and Scola to join this summer.

mahinmi doesn't look that interesting. looks really raw. and he needs a lot of seasoning. based on the highlight package i saw, i don't think he gets any time ahead of mbenga on the current mavs squad.

I'm glad to see that he had at least one highlight clip featuring an outside shot. He looks pretty one dimensional right now but I like his toughness.

Looks like he talks alot of shit. His agent said he would only sign with the spurs if they guaranteed him minutes.

When I say interesting I mean potential wise. And that's why I add that he's at least a year away (probably 2). Of course it helps when you can play with someone like Tim Duncan to help bring you along. He's only 19 so it's not like he doesn't have time to grow and improve.
I just think the Spurs have made a couple interesting choices in Javtokas and Mahinmi.

Someone please explain to me why the Spurs owned his right? Did they drafted him or something?

spurs have sent an official invitation to robertas javtokas.
"we congratulate javktokas with good season both in lithuanian championship and in euroleague. We are ready to sign a contract with R. Javtokas. Final details are being adjusted now with javtokas' agent Herb Rudoy" - thise letter from R.C. Buford was received on wednesday evening by virginijus bulotas (interperformances representative in Lithuania)
26 years old 210 cm player should sign a contract in july.
V. Bulotas: "the contract will probably be 2+1"
by NBA rules new contracts can be signed starting from 12 july.
S.A. spurs have drafted Javtokas in 2001 NBA draft second round (pick 56). from that moment javtokas was always in their horizon.
FYI..

I'm surprised they have interest in KVH but if anyone would know how to get the best out of him I guess it would be Pop.
They wouldn't have to give up anything (certainly not Javtokas) for him since he'll be a free agent though.
