Default Henin's agent says she's retiring immediately

Justine Henin is retiring, effective immediately, her agent Ken Meyerson confirmed Wednesday morning.

Meyerson said the world No. 1 player called him Sunday evening and, in what he described as a "warm" conversation, said, "I've won everything I need to win, I have more money than I can use in three lifetimes, and I don't have the will to play one day more."

It's just that, Wii Tennis is the only kind of tennis that I find even the tiniest bit interesting.

Just saw it on ESPN...I had never seen that woman's face in my life...she has won the French Open 3 times in a row...she is only 25

Is "tennis" the game that's like shuffle-board, or ping-pong?

Don't front to be hating on tennis. This is a shocking development. The best backhand on tour maybe ever. Also the smallest non peas on an ironing board ever.

Oh, I thought it was the game with the ball and the cup, except the ball is on a string and attached to the cup.

this is pretty big news. For women's tennis, probably something like Jordan's 1st retirement.

In other news, this board has tanked.

I hate to see her go. I always marveled at her ability to not only compete but exel playing against players that had far superior power.

Agreed. She looks like she is 5'5 and 100 lbs and playing against MEN like Serena Williams...beating them consistently.

It's not over the hill, though.
Ages of the new top 10
21; 20; 23; 22; 26; 26; 21; 27; 25; 23
at 11 is a 29 year old.

She hit a slump this year that might be age/injury related, but just last year won at a historical rate, and was ranked #1 at retirement.

Agreed, it's not over the hill--it's definitely the last 25% of a woman tennis player's career.

16-18 - 25%
19-21 - 25%
22-24 - 25%
25-27 - 25%

it is extremely rare women over the age of 27 do anything.
plus, it'll just be weird if you're 27 and you're playing against a 16 year old girl
