Caron Butler for Stackhouse and Bass?
I was reading somewhere that the Wizards where going to start looking to dump salary soon and maybe the Mavs could Offer Stack+Bass for him if they Wizards want cap space, Caron is not a Head Case and nor is he Injury Prone so If I was Cuban I would try to get him to fill the Sg spot.

It would probably take Josh to get Butler. Which to me I'd still go for. I think besides Shaq Caron Butler may be one of our best options to try and trade for.

Stack & Bass for Caron Butler = the Pau Gasol deal...
We could move Josh to the 2 and have a solid defensive/offensive game:
Kidd/JJB
Howard/JET
Butler/Howard
Dirk/Singleton
Dampier/Hollins
We'd be thin at the 5, but we'd solve our ever-lasting problem of not having a 2-way shooting guard and would allow Josh to do what he does best by getting quick points in the first half while allowing Dirk, JET and Butler to shine down the stretch...
Although I agree with MavsWiLLHaVeRinGs that it would probably take Howard to get Butler (if we can even get him), in which case I'd still do it because Caron Butler is a better return than someone like Vince Carter if the price is Josh Howard...

If this rumor is true, FO needs to do it in a heartbeat.

It's not a rumor, and there's no way the Wizards would do this deal.

Lets stop talking about it. The more we discuss it, the less likely the chance that it will happen.

I doubt we'll be able to get him for just Stack and Bass. We would at least have to throw Josh in there but even then i dont think the wizards would do it. Caron would be an awesome player to have he actually plays on both sides of the court and hes still pretty young.

Wiz won't do anything. They're in the Blake Griffin sweepstakes.

They won't do anything that'd make them better this season because that'd just be pointless, but that hardly implies they won't do anything.

Bass should go. He has trade value, and we won't resign him for what he will want to be paid. If they want Josh they should throw in some other G to give us some depth. Maybe Deshawn Stevenson

There is a trade I was thinking about
Josh/Stack/Williams/Bass
for
Butler/Stevenson/Baltche
WE would get sg, sf, and a c/pf

If the Wizards are purely looking to dump salary I could see them trading Butler, Mike James, & Etan Thomas for Kidd and Bass. I'm not sure why they'd have any interest in Stackhouse.

The Wizards continue to get inquiries about SF Caron Butler. He's an All-Star caliber player, but if the team does not make a move at the deadline, it is going to wind up smack in luxury tax territory. They can't trade PF Antawn Jamison or PG Gilbert Arenas because of their contracts, so Butler remains their only option.

Any trade for the Wizards where they are losing Caron Butler and gaining a Maverick not named Dirk will not be making their team better this year.

This year's already a loss for the Wiz... how about Josh and Bass for Butler?

They would want stack for his contract, not his talent. They are trying to land Griffin in the draft so don't care about getting better this year.

I'm pretty sure the Wizards are under the tax threshold for this year. All the websites I've seen that show NBA salaries show the Wizards at something around $70.6 mil in team payroll. Tax threshold is $71.15. Different story for 2009/2010, but the Wiz still have 12 months to figure out a solution for that. Basically, the Wiz don't need to be in a hurry to move Caron.

NO way! There are far better trades out their, we cant lose our only effective big man now that Diop is gone who will replace Bass?? Butler is a good player but consider he scores a bunch of points on a sorry team much like John Salmons on SAC. There are few basses out their, we already have Howard=butler to, I would though go for a Rip Hamilton or rudy Fernandez+ other trade but howard would have to go.
Bass is a great mid range shooting athlete who can score 20 if given enough shots, I think he has that devin harris like potential, once hes given an opportunity he will become a 15 pt 7 rebound guy
