I guess I don't understand athletic shoes - how are Dirk's kicks "uglier" than anything else Nike makes? (all their shoes look like garbage to me anyway...)
Then again, I constantly catch flack for wearing "soccer cleats" because I sport Adidas Sambas, so what the hell do I know?

Basketball shoes....such a good investment for the common man.
Do players really change their shoes for the playoffs?
What does "PE" mean and why do they keep saying it at that link?

I'm going to guess "Playoff Edition"? Maybe? "Personal Edition"?

If the shoes guarantee 30ppg in the playoffs, he should take them!

Players have special edition shoes (colorways) for every occasion...All-Star games, Playoffs, Christmas, Valentines, St. Patty Days, etc. It is a huge money maker. Shoes are recession proof
It all started with Jordan. He wore a new pair of shoes for every game. His Air Jordan I was the first banned shoe in the NBA. Before there were strict uniform guidelines, could only wear certain colors matching the jersey. Jordan & Nike took those fines every game until the rule was changed.

Wow if Dirk injures his ankles in the playoffs its because of those shoes. Too high at the ankles.
I had Dirks shoes that he wore in 06 playoffs they were all white and gray and I injured my left ankle 3 times.

Penis Ejaculate
The shoes aren't that bad really. It's got that nice retro look which is coming back. Way better than anything Lebron makes. Lebron shoes are feet abortions, plus they're ridiculously expensive. Kobe shoes were straight up ugly until he came out with the Kobe 4's. Those are nice, with good classic look too them. He finally did something right.
I'm not a fan of hi-tops (not a fan of basketball shoes alltogether) but I'd buy me some Dirks if I could. I'd wear 'em too

Typically a higher shoe is going to help support the ankle.

It is actually shoes with lower cuts that lead to ankle injuries. Higher shoes provide more ankle support. Some people took issue with Kobe's new kicks because they are so low-cut that they could lead to him rolling his ankle more often.
