Default Shawn Bradley or J.J.Barea

Who Was Worse For The Mavs Franchise????
I Easily Say Barea Bc he Brings Nothing To this team and is a HUGE defensive liability bc of the fact that we constantly have to provide double teams to help him out!!

Barea did do good last year against the Spurs in the 1st round. The only thing I remember about Bradley in the playoffs for us is him getting posterized by T-Mac as probably the top 3 posterizations of all time.

Bradley was a fine player in his day. Anyone who says otherwise is ignorant.

Bradley busted buns and had a better impact than people give him credit for. He just got flack because he was thrown under the bus so much by Nelson and the posterizations didnt help.

JJB plays hard-- his only problem is that he's small and he is what he is-- a backup PG. Bad for the franchise? The only thing thats bad about him is that Carlisle plays him too much instead of Roddy and I'd consider that Carlisle's fault not JJB's.

So its pretty hard to argue that either one is worse for the franchise when neither one did any damage. They are/were both players with weaknesses that played hard to contribute.

Can I vote Randy White?

I had such high hopes for the "Mailman II" when he was drafted.

Shawn Bradley got a tough break but I always appreciated him for one simple reason. He wasn't afraid to be dunked on. The most frustrating thing for me as a fan is watching players run out of the way so they won't get dunked on. Bradley never cared. And isn't Shawn Bradley like top 12 all time in blocks? Not a bad career. I suppose at 7'6 expectations were a bit high for him but I always thought he was solid for the Mavs. He should've never been our only option at the 5 spot. Maybe he should've never been a starter for us. But I can find 20-25 minutes a night for a Shawn Bradley.

I like how someone posts "Barea vs. Bradley" and everyone instantly rushes to Bradley's defense.

Oh no, not another I love Shawn Bradley thread. He was a great center, with a sweet jumo shot from his 1 spot. But if he had to defend another center, he sucked and the Mavs got owned. Just too skinny and too awkward. Couldn't move his feet and didn't have any strength. The worst thing about Bradley was Nellie's belief that he was good enough. Had the Mavs had a decent center (and no Raef LaFoul does NOT count) those teams could have gone places. Anybody remember Bradley trying to defend Shaq? Nuf Said.

Did you say Nellie's belief that he was good enough? Were you in a coma from 1998-2004?

But I digress...

Ha ha. There's something very right and something very wrong in that statement. The worst thing was that Nellie was so wrong in thinking that his approach to the center position was good enough. Opting to go with LaFrentz instead of Bradley was a huge mistake.

Shaq in his prime. Now there's a standard. Do you remember everyone in the whole league trying to defend Shaq at that time? (It really was hilarious. Hilarious and sad.) By your standard, there might be 2 centers in history that might be decent centers.
