Default Mavs beat Portland

The Dallas Mavericks (1-1) defeated the Portland Trailblazers (1-1) 81-67 in game six at the Reebok Rocky Mountain Revue held at Salt Lake Community College Sunday afternoon.
Portland took the tip and scored the first six points of the opening quarter before the Mavericks tied the game at the 4:45 mark on a 22 foot jump shot by Maverick, Tyrone Ellis. A close, but low-scoring first quarter came to an end with Portland ahead by one, 14-13.

In the second quarter, NBA veteran Qyntel Woods scored 11 of the Blazers 2nd quarter points but it wasn’t enough as the Mavericks took a 40-34 lead to the locker room. At the half, Dallas had nine players register points.

Dallas extended their lead in the third quarter to 10 points (44-34) despite the effort of Woods who came out firing and registered six of the Blazers first eight points closing the gap to within three points, 45-42. Dallas went on an 8-2 run midway through the third but only held a six-point lead at the end of three 59-53.

In the fourth, Portland came again within three points with six minutes left in the game but watched as Dallas took control outscoring the Blazers 22 to 14 in the final quarter to finish the game 81-67.

Dallas had five players finish with double figures, Marquis Daniels and Ira Clark who both registered 14 points and Brandon Williams, Tyrone Ellis and Ike Austin who each had 10 points. Portland’s Qyntel Woods scored a game high 23 points and Zach Randoph adding 14.

Portland resumes play on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 pm when they meet a combined Indiana/Philadelphia team in a game televised on nbc.com TV. Dallas will take on the host Utah Jazz, Monday evening at 6:00.

It was bumped by a spam bot.

I probably should have soft deleted the post so people would realize why he did that. Only reason I know is because I'm the one that deleted it.
