GDT game 32 - Mavs (8-23) vs Pistons (17-13) 7:30 FSSW
@townbrad: Dennis Smith Jr. will play vs. Detroit tonight, per Rick Carlisle. Has missed 6 games with hip strain.

Pistons have been terrible lately right? We should have no answer for Drummond down low.

I went to look to answer my own question: 3-7 in last 10 but had won 3 in a row. Also, Avery Bradley injured his groin last game an is out one week. Its almost uncanny how many injuries precede us

Detroit, Miami(without Whiteside), then Atlanta... where we both will be on the 2nd game of a b2b. This is a clutch stretch.

Fear the Jr., all ye Detrojans, for he is back with a vengeance... the Jr. returns to record the first triple-double (20 points-10 assists-10 rebounds) of his career, and thus, he, all by himself, wins # 9 for the Mavs....
Mavs - 100
Piss-stones - 98

@bobbykaralla: Dennis Smith Jr. is back. It's a good day. Smith, Matthews, Barnes, and the Germans start for Dallas.

Is it too hopeful to think that since we brought Collinsworth up that it means maybe just maybe a vet pg will be traded away?

Are the Mavs working with Habitat for Humanity? Looks like they're building a house with all these bricks...

Dirk.
I mean, I wanna rack up those losses, but I love seeing Dirk sink threes... I'm so conflicted.

Bamba and porter have a chance to be there at 6 at least. Otherwise Jaren Jackson for me still.

We would like a Kobe type or maybe a Michael Jordan like. Are they going at 10 next year?

We don't always win, but when we do, it's a blowout... Stay thirsty, my friends.

That's the kind of line you want to see from the rook if we're gonna win.

@MFollowill: The Mavs 43 point 2Q tonight vs Detroit was their most pts in a qtr season since scoring 49 in the 2Q vs the Nets on 12-2-2009 (the last game of NJ's 0-18 start)

Porter might be there in the 6-10 range but there is no way Bamba is still there. I think Bamba could go as high as 2.
I agree about Jaren Jackson. If they’re drafting 6-10 and he’s on the board when they pick they have to draft him. He and Maxi would be an interesting fit playing next to each other.

I'm a little hopeful with the 2 top pg's playing well. Draftnet has Bamba 6th atm in their mock. So maybe it's at least possible. Or they are playing on my emotions giving me false hope

I just look at the teams that will likely be in the top 6 of the draft and not many need PG’s. Most need a big man. Just my opinion but I really think Ayton, Bagley, and Bamba will be the top 3 picks, followed by Doncic and Porter. There is always a chance that some team trades up to draft Trae Young or Sexton though. If the Mavs are outside the top 5 picks that’s what they have to hope for. That would push one of those big men down. If the Mavs end up 7-10 they need to consider Robert Williams especially if he measures out as a legit 6’10” at the combine.

Currently, Bamba is outside the top 5. Obviously that all could change over the course of the season, but the top 5 seems to be Bagley, Ayton, Doncic, Porter, and Young. The next tier would be Bamba, Jackson, Bridges, Sexton, and Knox, with Bamba and Sexton the best chance to make the jump and create a top 7.

Looking at the current standings, I'd say the Hawks and Bulls are tough with Schroeder and Dunn playing well this year, with both needing improved frontcourts. Suns absolutely need a PG. And the Magic and Hornets are similar to Hawks/Bulls, but could both be tempted by Young/Sexton to upgrade or play alongside Payton/Walker.
It's tough to say really. But the way Young is playing, he's sure fire top 5. There won't be 5 teams that pass on him.

I agree 100% but also thought hell would freeze over before Lauri M. was drafted over DSJ.
