Any chance N.J. would trade j-kidd for....?
If we could only get an awesome, seasoned, veteran pg.
We give them:
terry and stackhouse to give them some options.
we might also have to give more than that.
perhaps also,
dickau
henderson
wahed
mbenga
We could pick up scalabrine and maybe best if they'd be willing to give them to us.
If we had a healthy j-kid I think we'd be set.
dampier, bradley, booth, podkolzine
nowitzki, scalabrine,
howard,
finley, daniels,
kidd, harris, best
if we get injuries to players, we'd have some nice fil ins.
for instance,
dampier get's hurt, bradley steps in.
nowitzki gets hurt, scalabrine steps in. if they both get hurt, booth steps in.
if howard gets hurt, (a healthy)scalabrine steps in. or perhaps finley plays sf and daniels(6'6) starts at the sg. In that case best fills in for 'backup' at the sg position.
say harris gets hurt, a healthy best or daniels could fill in as a backup to j-kid.
We have options but i think if we want to win it all it will have to include someone like a jason kid. unless our guards can learn to pass and play make like nash in only a few months.

I like that... I would give Terry/Stackhouse for Kidd/Scalabrine
only Kidds salary is what concerns me...way to huge.

Doesn't work -- no salary match. Stack and Jefferson are basically the same person. Why would they give up Scalabrine?
Try www.realgm.com
If you were going to get Kidd: The play that makes more sense to both sides is Kidd/Mourning for Terry/Henderson/Booth.
Terry for his PG skills, Booth as a big, and Henderson for expiring contract.
Kidd to D for his PG skills, and Mourning for backup PF/C skills and Defensive skills.
Are either of these players over their injuries though. I can see this happening at the trade deadline if they prove health, but not till then.

Why would they give up Scalabrine? Why the heck would we want Scalabrine? I think that's the real question.

The bigger question is, why would we want KIDD, who cant shoot in a half court game, and whose explosive speed just got killed by the ghastliest kind of knee problem? We want the old Kidd, but not the one that is available now, sad to say. NJ would embrace anyone who will take him (and his contract) off their hands, cause he has negative trade value these days - due to combo of injury, age, contract.

Sorry about the wrong spot, I put up the wrong window, my bad.
I forgot to add that perhaps we could pick up walt williams again. He would be a great addition as a backup. He played pretty clutch a few years back in the playoffs.
Anyway, you're right that it's a huge contract but we'd be picking up the tail end i believe.
Scalabrine is merely a replacement for henderson. I would say he's better than hend. and also has playoff experience. Scalabrine has come through in playoff time for the nets so that says something. He's not great, just a good hustler when called upon.
We'd be better off with a team of,
dampier, bradley, booth, pavel,
nowitzki, scalabrine
howard, williams,
finley, daniels
kidd, harris, best.
maybe we could pick up stefanson again? I think he'd be a good backup up pg or sg and at 6'6, he could do both. I think best is a little too small perhaps.
