Dirk needs to pull a Kobe!
Let's face it this team is going nowhere with this group. Dirk needs to speak up just like Kobe did 2 yrs. ago when he said, that he needed better talent around him, or he wanted to be traded. Dirk must do the same thing cuz Mark listens to Dirk, due to the fact that Dirk is the reason why the A.A.C. sells out amongst other things. Mark should start shopping Terry, and Howard a.s.a.p. and bring in another superstar, a real threat or he's gonna have a very unhappy free agent Superstar in Dirk N. this summer. Time is now!

Dirk won't do that. He's the ultimate class act.
That being said, Dirk doesn't have to say anything. Cuban knows the situation. One great thing about Cuban is he loves Dirk as much as we do and wants to see him succeed and win a championship. He knows he has to do something with this roster to make that a reality.

IMO there's a good chance no trade will occur. I didn't realize we have the easiest schedule for the remainder of the season of any Western Conf. team. From the F.O.'s perspective, they might think a trade may throw off our team chemistry and make us worse. Don't be shocked if this isn't the same team we roll out come playoff team.

Well if we don't make moves, the FO will have some serious work cut out for them this off-season.

I assume he means win the west, and I got to say he is right though the point of this thread is not. The Lakers will beat us and fairly easily at this point in a 7 game series, even imo if Gasol or Bynum is out. We need to trade I think both Terry and Howard to get a star wing and depth or another great defender/ athletic guy

Sorry-I know, I know. But I'm afraid it stays. I root for both teams-yes-I know the Spurs are Satan to Mavs fans. Don't worry, I'm not here to be a douche. I love the Mavs, so I'll talk about the Mavs here. I talk about the Spurs on a Spurs board.
Of course,if you have any questions about the Spurs, ask.

haha just one question I still haven't quite figured out and I get it from spur fans all the time. How many rings do they have?
no all kidding aside, welcome to the board, man

By the way, I cant remember a time when Dirk was below 8 rebounds this late in the season.
Certainly not in the last 8 9 years.
Just a factoid.

Having Marion, Kidd and Gooden around will do that - individual stats tend to suffer when a squad shares common strengths.
(that's a GOOD problem to have!)

Well Kidd is a good rebounder and so is Marion. This is probably the result of having them on the team.

Dirk has class, Kobe doesn't thats why they call him the drama queen.
The Mavericks have the chips to do something lets just see if they do. The Mavericks may just wait till the summer of 2010.

I doubt Dirk does that, he won't force things. Cuban's fed a lot of cash into the court product. It's not a lack of effort. Dirk is above that. Dirk has an option year coming up, he said he's picking it up, what if he suddenly backs off of it....then what, threaten to walk if things don't get better, how can you judge that, if he did it this offseason, can he judge that adding Marion puts them over the top? No. Cuban and Nelson are working for the best deal possible, working under the gun creates mistakes.

You make it sound as though he's been hovering around 6 RPG all year. He literally JUST went under 8 (to 7.9) for the first time all year. He still steps up his rebounding when we need it. Like was mentioned, with Marion, Damp, Kidd, Gooden, that happens. Plus the whole age thing. I'm sure he'll still be at 10-12 in the playoffs like always.

Equating "going nowhere" with "failing to win the West" is laughable.

I cant understand why we would want to keep Damp, he would have to be probably the worst center in the whole comp. We need a center who can defend against the bigs and score as well

Dirk could learn a lot from Kobe Bryant, both personally and professionally. Kobe is one of the great guys in the league and also my pick for MVP.

kobe has said nothin but good things about dirk, he knows dirk is a freak of nature.
saying that, this would help alot of dirk spoke up, but hes just not that kind of guy, never has been..
hell never leave dallas, but when will he get tired of 2nd round elimations?
hes proven he can carry us to the finals, but we need scoring help..
and our front office sucks at trades/aquiring talent.. as long as they run the show.. all you can do is cross your fingers

Spoken like someone who plays fantasy basketball but has never actually watched a game. Dampier is a very solid defender, and on the offensive end, sets some of the hardest picks in the league. I don't really care if he doesn't score, we don't need him to. Is he the best center in the league? Of course not. But the worst? You're high.

What could he learn from Kobe? How to butt rape some unstable chic? Cheating on his wife? Being selfish and concieted? Running off the best Center to ever play the game? The list goes on....
I'm glad your pick for MVP doesn't mean anything to anyone anywhere. Way to go out on a limb with your MVP pick too, who is your runner up? LBJ?

Weren't there any better centers in the history of the NBA? Just saw Shaq missing two free throws against the Thunder again. Someone who is refusing to try the underhand free throw because he would feel embarrassed is never going to be the best center who ever played the game in my book.

I'm going to say this once, and I'm sorry to sort of make an example out of you, but it's really nothing personal:
Anybody who thinks that Dampier is a problem with this team simply does not have their finger on the pulse of the Mavericks. Losing Damp would be a crippling blow to this team's championship aspirations. The only more significant blows would be losing Dirk or losing Kidd.

Dear God, Almighty, make it be so.
It won't be so, because the idiots don't have it as such....but, oh, if they did.
